Opinion Piece: Otherkin, Solipsism, and Anti-Elitism

Opinion: the whole otherkin thing is ridiculously solipsistic

Think about it. You are so counterproductively self centered (being self centered is fine until it becomes counterproductive) that you legitimately think that you are another species, which is really impossible to do without breeding humans and another animal to produce a fluked offspring. But the main point of this is you think it’s valid no matter what. Sure I can accept the ones who do it while simultaneously acknowledging they aren’t actually said animal, nor would they ever be, but I’ve mostly just seen that it’s people who don’t seem to have a firm grasp on reality to begin with.

And that’s my main issue with a lot of people on that part of the left. The unwillingness to admit or even consider the possibility of invalidity or even implementation of simple elitism into the spaces.

But in the end if you legitimately think you are something other than a Homo Sapien, get help.

 The current political, social, and economic climates are the perfect reason for a spreading of the idea of Antinatalism, or at the very least voluntary population reduction. Each side of the sociopolitical system accused the other of indoctrinating, grooming their children; while simultaneously doing exactly that themselves. A third side solution to prevent the “incorrect” corruption of the youth is to simply not have children. From a virtuously selfish perspective, not having kids spares the stress of worrying about indoctrination. A rational step to such a self interest would be to abstain from procreative sexual endeavors- sex is fine, just don’t procreate: thou shalt not procreate- which would result in unplanned and unnecessary pregnancy, as in the United States is living in a post-Roe landscape, the option of a safe abortion may be compromised depending on the state of living.

The word Satan in specific means a human adversary

humans are fleshy and carnal animals, like any other.

naturally, given that and the definition of the word Satan being a human adversary, Satanist would mean one that is adversarial to that which would deny the innate carnal and animalistic instincts humans have

So, Satan coming from the Hebrew word for adversary, it’s not any one specific character. Satanism by it’s codification and definition of the word Satan stems from the idea of that adversary. Satanism is adversarial in that it promotes the life enriching things that have traditionally been given the devil’s name by both much of society and religious institutions. Greed, lust, nonconformity, rational self interest, humor, passion for living, atheism, being selective about who to love (or hate), self preservation, lex talionis/silver rule, third sides and uncomfortable alternatives…

In my time in circles for satanism I have noticed that many use terms like brother, sister, brethren, to refer to myself and other people. Let me make one thing very clear: I am not your sister, nor am I your brethren. Fellowship with brethren is a collectivist- typically Christian- concept. Satanism is not by any means a collectivistic bunch. Sure some might get together and have fun, but that’s their choice to have fun as a social animal and make friends. The Church of Satan has been called a mutual admiration society by numerous members, and that’s true not just for members of the church. Satanists have one thing in common: a mutual respect for the philosophy and religion that satanism is. Satanism does not dictate we are friends, family, or even like each other in the slightest. Satanism is for the individual, not the herd or any collective.
