Hebrew, Not Christian

Hebrew, Not Christian

לִוְיָתָן is Hebrew for Leviathan)

The word Satan in specific means a human adversary
humans are fleshy and carnal animals, like any other.
naturally, given that and the definition of the word Satan being a human adversary, Satanist would mean one that is adversarial to that which would deny the innate carnal and animalistic instincts humans have
So, Satan coming from the Hebrew word for adversary, it’s not any one specific character. Satanism by it’s codification and definition of the word Satan stems from the idea of that adversary. Satanism is adversarial in that it promotes the life enriching things that have traditionally been given the devil’s name by both much of society and religious institutions. Greed, lust, nonconformity, rational self interest, humor, passion for living, atheism, being selective about who to love (or hate), self preservation, lex talionis/silver rule, third sides and uncomfortable alternatives…
The Hebrew

Satanism is based more on the Judaic meaning of the word than the Christian or Islamic, however that’s not to say it isn’t in defiance against either of these two things.
