Temporary Ordinary

This is sort of an extension of Burning Bridges. One of the lines takes from a riddle given to Bilbo Baggins by Gollum in the chapter Riddles In The Dark from The Hobbit. Another takes cue from the song Meat by Poppy

Immortal improbability:
A monumental morgue,
Even if hidden under rubble
or the sea

To infinity
Into nothing

Earth will be engulfed,
Entropy eats up everything,
Even the bursting black hole gamma beams

All crumbles,
Time minces bone and grinds mountains down
Old or new, what is learned is gone after high noon
Like meat minced between teeth, too much too soon
Acid eating it away
A carcass consuming then gone all the same

Plugged into life support machinery;
Misery and joy—
All ordinary is temporary:
Hoping as much as loathing a possible repeat
