I wouldn't label Homelander as any sort of sociopath as he does have emotion, as twisted as his understanding of it seems to be. Although, presumably with the conditions of influence he was raised with it's unsurprising; a lab rat raised not to understand something will not understand that thing. The rat is always right. I would say it's a borderline psychopathy not from nature but nurtured in. Emotion is obviously preset but it seems as if it's muted in a sense to a high extent. They scarcely leave his mouth with any amount of exorcism when of a truly deep level. His understanding is that of PR-oriented pathos in expression of emotion. Vaught is PR driven as a lobbyist corporation, Homelander was raised as a poster child. It seems to make sense that he's a narcissist on his level to a certain extent. But, on another hand Frank Herbert posits an idea that power doesn't corrupt but attracts/ is with corrupted people, so it could just be his character, his father Soldier Boy was seemingly no different just without laser eyes and the ability to fly so maybe it's genetic.

small psychological pondering on Homelander
It's hard to place Homelander on the antisocial personality disorder spectrum of things. On one hand, he has a clear grandiose narcissism that encompasses just about everyone and everything. His (at times psychosexual) vicarious living shows a distinct vulnerable narcissism within that.
